Bodrum was named Halikarnassos in the past. The city was established by Lelegs in 11th century B.C. The villages that are established far from the shore and on the high hills are surrounded by city walls. They are in the route of walking tours. Bodrum is birth place of Heredot and it has been an important center of various civilizations.
You can still see the basis of Mausoleum which was built in the name of Mausolus ( King of Karya ), which is the one of world's seven wonders. L'Ambiance Resort is very close to Myndos Gate, that was used by Alexander the Great in 333 B.C. In addition,a neciopolis consisting 19 graves is in the borders of our hotel. Our swimming pool is surrounded by 1600 year old ruins. World's biggest Underwater Archaeology Museum is the Castle of St. Jean Knights at the harbor of Bodrum.
