Uzel
is one of Turkey's leading industrial groups, with origins reaching
back to the 1930s. Our principal business activities are in the
areas of automotives and agricultural machinery and we are one of
the world's biggest manufacturers of tractors in terms of the number
of units sold. We also produce diesel engines and suspension systems.
With a strong background and track record in manufacturing, Uzel's
goal today is to become a benchmark in services as well. The company
is currently engaged in a program to turn itself from a wholesale
manufacturer to a producer of consumer-oriented goods and services.
As
one of the youngest and most dynamic hotel groups in Turkey, Uzel
Tourism is rooted in the strong corporate culture of its parent company,
Uzel Holding. It presently owns and operates a bed capacity of one
thousand in two hotels. Located in two of Turkey's star tourist
destinations, Bodrum, the company's hotel services are marketed
under the L'Ambiance trademark. We are also the operators of a popular
beach club, an enterprise in which we hold a stake.
Our
vision is to continue to grow in various branches of the tourism
industry and to become a world-recognized brand. We do not restrict
ourselves exclusively to domestic (in-country) projects and we are
in the process of putting together a strategic transformation plan.
Our immediate objective is to increase our bed capacity, which we
expect to do by operating and/or leasing new hotels and holiday
villages.
We
are currently engaged in negotiations for a large number of holiday
villages and hotel projects in various locations along Turkey's
Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. In the same vein, we are also interested
in discussing strategic cooperation agreements with foreign firms
engaged in the businesses of tour operations, retail chains (travel
agencies), hotel owners, and financing companies.
During
the high season, we presently create employment opportunities for
about 330 people. Our central management team, with a core of seven
members, continues to work in line with our growth goals while the
rest of our personnel carry out the duties and functions of operating
the hotels.
As
an integral element of our management philosophy, our plan is to
achieve the degree of profitability that our company needs to sustain
its growth while also developing the resources that will enable
us to achieve the company's other goals. Concerning service, our
principle is to ensure that our guests perceive us as a company
that provides perfect service and, in that way, earn their respect
and loyalty. While developing new skills that will contribute to
our growth in the tourism industry, we also create high-quality
products that are market leaders. We strive to recognize the individual
successes of each employee and to reward them for their performance.
In the area of personnel training, we conduct programs aimed at
keeping employees' job skills and discipline at the highest level
while also contributing to their professional development.
